Wild Clay oval vase

Wild Clay oval vase

CA$80.00

Pinch vase made from clay dug from my farm in Saskatchewan. Great for a bodacious bouquet of fresh or dried flowers.

Glazed with the clay itself: mixed with a glass forming ingredient (frit), the trip through the kiln fuses the glaze to the clay, creating a smooth surface with blueish creamy hues.

13cm/ 5” across wide edge.

12cm / 4.5”tall

Artist's Notes:

I now live in BC, Canada, but I’ll always be a Saskatchewan farm kid! Thank you for taking a look at my experiments. It took 2 years to figure out how turn this Saskatchewan mud into a mug, and I’m so happy to share the results with you. When working with this Saskatchewan soil, I like to leave a lot of the raw clay exposed, so we can see and feel the character of the clay itself. The colour varies from a shiny brown with white specks, to a matte reddish brown, depending on where the piece was in the kiln. The variance in the pieces is what makes this wild clay so dynamic and interesting to me

Food, microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe, but handmade pottery loves to be pampered with hand washing and gentle use :) The bottom of each piece has been smoothed with diamond sanding pads to prevent scratching your furniture.

Shipped items always include an extra little gift, and are packed attractively and safely with re-used materials (bubble wrap, foam sheets, and brown wrapping paper) to help reduce waste. Items are shipped from Princeton BC via Canada Post. I live in a rural area and I bring parcels to the post office 1-2 times per week, so your items will be shipped within 2-5 days of your order. Shipping is $18-25 depending on your location; this is calculated at check-out.
