The stylized wheat design on these mugs is inspired by my Prairie roots - I'll always be a Saskatchewan farm kid!
13 oz mug with squared handle for comfortable 3 or 4-finger grip. The inside of these mugs have a shallow texture with a design like tooled leather. If you prefer your mug with a plain inside, you can find them here.
Golden brown glaze, like harvest time in Saskatchewan - looking over vast fields of wheat, ripening in the September sunshine.
Made with high-quality, durable stoneware clay sourced from the Canadian Prairies, glazed with food-safe materials that I mix myself and fired to vitrification in my electric kiln.

Artist's Notes:
Luxuriously detailed handmade pottery, created with lots of love in my home studio in BC, Canada. All my mugs start as hand-rolled slabs of soft clay and I shape them with the use of simple tools and sponges. I like to leave the joining seam visible, signaling that the pieces were not formed on the pottery wheel and have a unique relationship with my hands. My pottery is more light-weight than you might expect if you are used to using wheel-thrown pieces.
My inspiration is to make items for “everyday luxury” - useful pots that are a pleasure to use and look at. My experience as a henna artist helps me draw designs with exquisite detail, and my hope is that the raised texture brings you joy. Each one is decorated freehand with liquid clay, so every design is individually different.
Food, microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe, but handmade pottery loves to be pampered with hand washing and gentle use :) The bottom of each piece has been smoothed with diamond sanding pads to prevent scratching your furniture.
Shipped items always include an extra little gift, and are packed attractively and safely with re-used materials (bubble wrap, foam sheets, and brown wrapping paper) to help reduce waste. Items are shipped from Princeton BC via Canada Post. I live in a rural area and I bring parcels to the post office 1-2 times per week, so your items will be shipped within 2-5 days of your order. Shipping is $18-25 depending on your location; this is calculated at check-out.
